Madrid face Manchester City on Friday and Rafa Benitez put his players through their paces at AAMI Park training ground ahead of the Champions Cup clash.

Arsenal target Karim Benzema and Manchester United target Sergio Ramos both trained, as did Gareth Bale who is likely to feature in the No 10 role for Madrid this coming season.

The outfield players started off their training session with a simple drill of ball control and simple passing before moving on to some higher intensity routines.

Madrid’s coaching staff later worked the squad on ball circulation and pressure drills before an intense match on a reduced pitch at the training ground.

Ronaldo and co are clearly closing in on peak fitness ahead of their upcoming clash with City but fans in Melbourne will be hoping the players are kept behind for some extra shooting practice.

Madrid have already been in action once during their time in Australia but their goalless draw against Roma didn’t do much to entertain the fans Down Under.

The Spanish side will also face Inter Milan on July 27 and AC Milan on July 30 while in Australia before they switch their attentions to the Audi Cup at the start of August.
